POP Display Design That Works

Point of Purchase Display Design

When developing a Point of Purchase display, one of the first things to consider is manufacturing. POP Display Design is a marriage of creative design with the most appropriate materials. Indeed, there is no shortage of choices out there, ranging from wood and metal to acrylic and tempered glass.

In many cases, the client's budget drives this choice, as it is critical to stay within the project's boundaries when proposing the materials for the display.
Other things to consider are the longevity of the exhibition, type of use, environment, update ability, and maintenance.

POP Display Design for Chivas

The materials we often work with include wood, metal, and acrylic. Our team gets very excited when we have an opportunity to marry multiple materials together, as with this Chivas project, where we have used stainless steel, wood, and tempered glass – all in one display for this iconic brand!

Stainless Steel as POP Material

Each material has its unique personality, which is crucial to understand when considering marrying the two. For example, stainless steel is often chosen for its attractive appearance, strength and low maintenance, and corrosion resistance. Being more expensive than standard steel grades, it is essential to ensure
it would fit within the project's budget.

Using Wood in POP Display Design

There is an incredible variety of wood materials to choose from. We decided on Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) for this Chivas display. Since this material
has no grains, it can be cut, drilled, machined, and sanded without damaging the surface. It works excellent with veneers and laminates and is reasonably priced.

Tempered glass is also known for its strength and durability, which is often our choice for shelving.

Breathing Life into The Display

Once the material properties are understood, it is essential to investigate different options of marrying the two materials together to ensure the longevity of the display. This is where they come in! Our industrial engineers are experts at bringing an idea to life and developing the logistics of the display construction. They will investigate whether to bond two materials together or affix them mechanically.

Finally, it is vital to test the materials and build a prototype to review the POP display design with internal and external teams. Our clients love this step, as they finally see how the idea has actualized into an eye-catching display that would soon promote their brand at retail!
